I asked on live help and missed it by a few minutes and got forced into a ticket answered two days after the close of the auction by a Linden who said my question wasn't clear, could I provide more details and screenshots? Of course they can do what they want, but I wish they had an open and consistent policy. Later I discovered the person who won the auction was in fact an end user and will be a nice neighbour - and in fact he hadn't asked for the abandoned land, which means those who asked likely went away, likely land barons who will only buy "General" at their own fixed rate, even if "sailing land" - very broadly understood (and the VERY broad understanding of this concept of "sailing" if visible in ridiculous prices continents away from the Blake Sea.) It's either that, or the Lindens are saying there are multiple requests when there aren't, and it's merely that they've decided on their own to auction land that is waterfront "sailable". We applied for some abandoned land, and got the message that it had to go to auction due to multiple requests. Ouch, the auctions have changed and I learned the hard way by losing. Greentech Alliance companies are on the front lines of advancing the circular economy. They can give second life to products, provide insight into material composition to facilitate recycling, and help build goods that last longer and are ‘circular-by-design.’ In a world still dominated by products made from virgin materials and wrapped and packaged in single-use paper and plastic, evolving Greentech solutions can help people and companies adopt more sustainable consumption patterns. While some countries are better at recycling and circular practices than others, there’s still a lot that can be done globally to reduce waste and give second life to products across different sectors and industries.Ĭhanges in corporate and consumer behavior are key to addressing the monumental waste challenge. In the United States, it grows by 25-43 percent between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, and similar increases are observed during winter holidays in countries like the UK and Australia. In high-consuming economies, waste increases dramatically during the holiday season. It also marks the end of a holiday season often characterized by high levels of consumerism and everything that goes along with it: shipped boxes, single-use plastics, Styrofoam and packing peanuts, paper wrapping, big meals, and new electronics, to name a few hallmarks of the holidays. It’s the month to review the positives and negatives of the past year, set goals for the new year, and perhaps identify new practices to lead a mindful lifestyle. January is a time of reflection for many of us.
